it is both saturday and sunday right now.
whenever my regular work schedule is interrupted i have a bout of insomnia (and now i must shoot robin williams) anyhoo i thought today i would nip it in the bud by hitting the rack when i got tired and sleeping the night... no dice went to bed at 8:00 up at 11:00 and here we are 1:35 a.m. and i'm AWAKE.
i had a good day today. i did volunteer work for the RED CROSS at beachwood mall, all we (my students and I) did was man the donations kiosk and ask for $1 donations to their wishes for the world holiday thing... anyhow we did o.k. but i must voice the total disgust i feel towards humanity. we're at BEACHWOOD MALL - many people who shop there seem to have some affluence.... but they were not about to drop a DOLLAR for the red cross.... amazing..... people with fur coats, tons of abercrombie & jcrew bags and their lexus keys out would look directly at us and say "no." our hope was found in the youth believe it or not 90% of our donations came from people under 20 years of age...... nice going youth!!!! i'm proud of you. then on my way out of the mall i stopped in thier little deli shop thing and bought a baby bottle of chardonnay (how are you allowed to buy wine in the mall and drink in the mall??? - love it) anyhoo the drive home was me, the dark evening sky, tail lights for miles, a glass of wine and nick drake on the hi-fi...... The world was, for that drive, a good place to be.
have a restful sunday and we'll talk on monday.
