i'm aces.
i went to the beach today for a while... there were a lot of questionable people there but whatever it's a free world (note to self: tomorrow go to rocky river pool). i had to work tonight... slow night but i got to bolt early - so that's nice... i got to catch some of my reality t.v. (o.k. i admit it i'm hooked on a coupla shows.... i felt super queer about it till i was over the V's and they all seemed to be watching the same utter shit).
i had a man come up to the bar tonight and stand in front of the draft system and ask.... (my favorite.... while looking kind of off into space as if the draft beer selection might be on a sign somewhere in the sky) "so what do you have on draft?" and i said (very slowly in my best romper room voice) "o.k. this is the draft system, and each of these handles operates a draft beer, you'll notice that each handle has a name on it that is to represent what kind of beer is available at that particular slot....... there is sam adams light, dortmunder gold, miller light, coors light, killians, bass and guinness... shall i repeat them" ( as i passed my hand over the whole system ala vanna white) . yeah i guess chris is right there should be a shot specific to my bar called the "flaming b.". but please... the only more stupid question i had all night was the guy who came up to the bar.... filled with people and said "you're open right?" DUH... NO I'M CLOSED AND I'M GONE.
oh the humanity - i will say that the weather, working with f.d., captain fingerbang, emil and the rest, and going home early made it totally bearable and somewhat enjoyable. also we employees have a secret sort of message system through the juke box.... really means nothing but betwixt us it's funny to hear a song and know why someone played it and what it's about... i often laugh aloud about a stupid country song that i hate because i know the meaning behind playing it. i know i know it all sounds pretty gay but ... whatever gets you through the shift right?
